My take on it, as a guess.

After the ****efest of a result on Saturday, which followed a couple of previous ****efests, Marina switched on the internet / television, saw that our rivals had all unexpectedly dropped points, and in United's case, humiliated themselves, which led to a reaction of sheer joy, to the point of just banging at the keyboard in a mixture of delight and disbelief.

Which sounds reasonable to me.

yes that's why there are so few female posters on here. nail on head reece. I was making a light-hearted response to an unusual post by Marina (in hindsight I shouldn't have bothered). The original post resembled someone having a fit in the middle of writing, pretending to swear for no reason or someone attached to a vibrating plate or similar. Hand on heart if it had been a male poster I would have made a similar comment. There was no malice and nothing personal whatsoever. I was still intrigued by what she had meant but it appears Dom's explanation is most likely.

I appreciate you thought it was light-hearted, but she expressed her slight displeasure with it which was then followed up by a couple of stupid comments by other posters (not you) - one of which was reported to the moderators. That's what prompted us to delete posts and make a post on the issue.

For the record, the sight rules make it pretty clear about sexist insults. Again, not saying yours was in any way intended as such, but certainly one of the aforementioned stupid comments was.

Anyway issue closed as far as I'm concerned. I'm way too busy to be dealing with crap like this.

Well, there are probably so few female posters on here because the sport in general is overrun with men who feel they have the singular entitlement to support it. I imagine it's similar to the tribalism associated with a club's city of origin--locals often have a superiority complex over non-locals. Admittedly, I don't think that that sort of Liverpool tribalism is evident on this site, as the vast majority are respectful of individuals of all backgrounds. I have, however, almost never been taken seriously by a large number of you and it is alienating and almost exclusively a function of my gender. Alright, the original post in question was kind of silly and nonsensical, but I thought its meaning would be obvious.

Anyway thanks to those of you who didn't feel the need to poke fun after I expressed justifiable dismay at a lewd comment. While I wasn't originally offended, the comments that came after are insulting and rude, and I'm sure you would not treat me in this way if I were standing right in front of you.

I didn't see what came after unless you were referring to my follow up post?

I often make comments in real life and on here with a sexual content, its me, its never to hurt or upset someone. I guess that's the problem with the written form, its doesn't always come across as intended. I've seen arguments start on here as someone has failed to put a after a post and the humour element was overlooked.

Look your views are as good as anyone's on here and also as ****e as everyone else's. Post count or sex is irrelevant. Mind you, you are American and that's a whole load of different ****.

It's fine, Bob. I'm not hurt or offended by the original comment, as I've said a few times. I don't have to be personally affronted to find issue with what you said. It's more the principal of the matter... but alas, this seems to be a moot point.
