Its not outrageous, but maybe a tad bit disrespectful. I'd show Brendan the door myself if Ancelloti was hanging around outside. Not Klopp or De Boer just yet though.Originally posted by Daniel 7 View PostAre we allowed to say that I'd like Klopp at Liverpool, de Boer at Liverpool and Ancelotti at Liverpool? I can't help but think next season under Brendan might be a repeat of this one.
Rodgers needs, and deserves, one more season. One tit for another.

He said this in November 2014
Man City is obvious, but we know those at the top want Guardiola. Will Arsenal get rid of Wenger, especially as Klopp's been seen as the long term replacement for Wenger? Man Utd won't get rid of Van Gaal, and Chelsea won't get rid of Mourinho. Imagine if Levy binned Pochettino."I think it's the only country I think where I should work (England), next to Germany because it's the only country I know the language a little bit and I need the language for my work. If somebody will call me, then we will talk about it."
Klopp was linked with Rodgers' job too around November/December. I think us and City would be the obvious choices if he comes to England and doesn't take a sabbatical. If he did take a year's leave, then it would open up a lot more for him in 2016.

To be honest, I'm not sure its even a managerial issue. The club seems to lurch from one recruitment disaster to another, and with the pinched wage structure and their seeming direction of signing the next big thing before they're big, I can't see the club putting together a proper title challenge again.
Having a big name manager might help attract better players though, even those that fit the FSG criteria - Brendan and comparatively low wages don't seem to help get them in through the door though.

I think Klopp and Rodgers are a similar type and style of manager. Pragmatic and forward thinking.
I do think his name has a bigger pull for players over Rodgers though, so from that point of view he would be nice.
Im happy with Rodgers at the moment, but come the end of the season we will see. Depends on how we finish for me.*Except Michael, who died.

Yeah, I'm kind of there too. I want him to do well at Liverpool, but I have my doubts about both him and probably FSG to a greater extent.
I want Liverpool to win the league, I don't even care about top 4 or playing in the European Cup. Its the league I want to see won. I'm not sure either can deliver the squad we'd need to do it.

It is a tricky one.
I have serious reservations about Rodgers, his personality will never win me over, I wouldn't say I dislike him but find him pretty annoying. Perhaps his biggest problem for me though is that he ain't Rafa and he always falls short when I compare him. Not his fault, clearly mine(!), and really Rafa's time was ages ago now so I should get over it. But Benitez just got the club, its unique spirit and the majority of fans in a way few have. The jury is also out of his defensive set up, his eye for a player in the transfer market and his woeful European form/experience.
However, Rodgers has plenty of plus points, not least his ability and adaptability are seriously impressive and he wants to his teams to play football.
Clearly FSG have their own way of running the club which is seemingly countering against modern football, and so he's a good fit for them.
Things change fast in football so I'd give him at least another season to see how we progress before deciding whether we need a change - he'll have been at LFC 4 years then, which is a decent length of time to assess him. No doubt there'll be a number of big name managers available next summer, there always is...James Philip Milner Fanclub #1
