Its hard to know when to stop feeling for someone for suffering from depression/alcoholism and then being annoyed that they aren't addressing the problem, to the point where it effects others.
That said I can think of about a thousand different ways to kill yourself without the need to hurt someone else at the same time.*Except Michael, who died.

My tuppence worth......
I dont give a **** about carlisle's problems. He didnt have a problem when he jumped on the "Lets hound Suarez out of the PL bandwagon"
He then tried to take the cowards way out and the same time ****ing peoples lives up. His family and the lorry driver

So the balancing act that Ralf Little is skilfully managing is between respecting those who have Mental Illness and depression, and suggesting that Clark Carlisle, though indeed a man with an illness is using a suicide attempt to cover up what is more likely fact that he is an alcoholic (which can obviously be brought on by depression) ?
Sounds messy. Was Carlisle in a car when he hit the truck, or on foot.
I tend to agree with Alex, there are many less horrific ways to commit suicide and avoid collateral damage in an attempt to cry for help.
Absolutely mental that given he has issues like this he was chosen as a spokesperson for the PFA.Modifying post.

“This wasn’t escaping or running away. This was the perfect answer. It made everyone happy and it ticked every box. I took two steps into the road and then jumped into the truck, like a full shoulder charge. I can remember that impact. Bang. Then lights out. I don’t know how long had passed. It must have been a few minutes.”Originally posted by Buzzo View Post

Your point is somewhat crudely put across but it's valid none the less.Originally posted by Paddy View Post****ing lunatic. Should be taken away by the men in white coats.
Surprised there weren't steps taken to section him. Clearly a danger to not only himself but also the public at large.

Yeah, should have worded it better, but it seems to be well known that he wasn't only a danger to himself but also others. Should have been prevented.Originally posted by spud_gun View PostYour point is somewhat crudely put across but it's valid none the less.

Something really does have to be done about mental health patients. They say around 70% of custody suite cells are of mentally ill people. There is know where for them to go or get the care they need.
The amount of police work taken up dealing with this sort of 'crime' just doesn't make sense.
I'm not saying bring back the hospitals to house them but it really is a drain on finances of the ever stretched police departments not to mention the deaths that have occurred to the public. It's yet another real issue that is difficult to know how to deal with.
Apologies for the tangent!Go **** yourself
