What about thinking a player was going to be garbage, only for them to tear it up when they got older?

Think the best one for me, personally, was when Nigel Reo-Coker came onto the scene, and my old man said "This lad is destined for Man Utd and many league titles"

I remember thinking Matt Derbyshire was going to be something of a goal machine.

Didn't think he'd be top quality or anything, but I did think he'd become a respectable PL goalscorer, similar to Kevin Phillips maybe.
