When clubs can earn a quarter of a billion pounds per season in TV revenue why shouldn't players and their agents grab every penny while they can?

Nah, for a start hes supposedly being offered 13m a year with bonuses on top. If they can get a 75m fee then they'd be looking at returning an overall margin after three years for a potentially world class player.

It's a gamble obviously but it's merely a consequence of having a lot of money sloshing around football at the elite level.
