Likewise you tend to put a positive slant on all things to do with Liverpool which is not a problem. I just don't see why it has to be an issue when people are being pessimistic especially when they try to back it up their points which Lecter has done.Originally posted by RichC View PostYou're relentless with your negativity on here, we need a right back and we haven't previously played with a dedicated holding midfielder, it's safe to consider that we'll be looking at a deep lying midfielder again which can work with the right mobility and awareness.
I'd obviously like to see a striker come in as well but as proven with the side Shaggy posted yesterday the squad isn't a million miles off it's ensuring they gel and work as a unit

Difficult to criticise the imbalance of the squad not being addressed so early on. Think we need to see what comes of the window first.Originally posted by Lecter View PostLots of inbalance in that squad as it is that's even before we talk about Kovacic
No decent fullbacks and we are short of a dedicated holding player. I am not sure we can rely on Lucas over a full season
There might be an element of us not being able to do it all this summer, and tbh if that's the case I think a new left back for instance would be one of the lower things on my list of priorities. Right back we're obviously looking to fill. DM - if Lucas stays we may feel Can is good enough to step up when needed.Like blood on iron

I honestly believe that he's who we've been after all along. We're just luring Southampton into a false sense of security by buying everyone one else in their squad. When we've got the whole lot and they think we're going to **** off then it'll be BLAMO!!! £50 million bid for Schneiderlin too. Southampton won't know what's hit themOriginally posted by foresterbloke View PostWe really can't address every shortcoming in a single window.
That said I wish for a bid for Schneiderlin.
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

As marcus has said you and a few others are relentless in your positive slant or is that just an acceptance of mediocrity I don't knowOriginally posted by RichC View PostCourse you haven't fella. All the moaning and whinging is not at all reflected on the club at all is it
On that note I'm off to play golf, have a happy day if you can

People said wait and see last year when we overloaded in certain positions and ended up playing Can centrehalf and rightback, and Markovic and Ibe as wingback and didn't play with a recognised striker for half the seasonOriginally posted by Red_Polo View PostDifficult to criticise the imbalance of the squad not being addressed so early on. I get that but it does seem weird we have continued to buy attacking midfielders without having bought 1 genuine defensive midfielder in a succession of transfer windowsOriginally posted by foresterbloke View PostWe really can't address every shortcoming in a single window.

They did. And when they waited to see they saw. I agree totally...I'm a long way from being excited about next season.
For me we need at least one and possibly two good full backs and a top, double hard, strong, quick, centre midi own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

Plenty of successful teams have not had a 'genuine' DM. Man City for example have done okay despite reserving a place in their team for a specialist 'midfielder who everything bypasses but generally stands deeper than Toure'.Originally posted by Lecter View PostI get that but it does seem weird we have continued to buy attacking midfielders without having bought 1 genuine defensive midfielder in a succession of transfer windows"The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

Maybe we should sell Markovic to fund other areas? I still think a CB would be good
It would slightly upset me to let him go as he's obviously talented and could potentially become a star ( he's shown it in glimpses) but we seem to be overloaded in these attacking positions and he's probably the one that needs the most work.
Actually, his stocks probably come down after last season but £15m wouldn't be bad.
