    U-21 Euros

May as well have it's own thread.

What's the story with Will Hughes these days (Mr. M?). Over-hyped or unfortunate that Derby's season tailed off?
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Well he's been preferred to Ward-Prowse in this game.

Seems to have stagnated a little though yeah.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I quite like Ward-Prowse. Fell asleep 20 mins into the Portugal game, but I take it he was poor then?

England U21s really 10 games without a win in finals. Seriously? This goes back to my feeling that preparing players for the rush and kick of premier league football destroys all hope of us winning anything at international level against decent technical opponents. Same all belt it up the pitch as soon as you get possession and hope hope you catch opponents on the hop who generally are too good to fall for it.

Unsurprisingly we've little to no creativity going forwards

That was a good cross and Kane did well to get his head on it.

Last few minutes we've looked a lot better.

Its the fact that the best players don't play for the U21s. Anyone under 21 should be in this side not the full side imo.

Good thing they're playing in the seniors with their cracking record in finals then.

But often like the senior side, they cruise through qualifying, so what's the difference? I didn't realise how hard it was for u-21's to qualify for this competition, they had to win their group then win a playoff, so surely they must have beat a few decent teams along the way. Why does it fall to pieces at this stage?

If they gained experience of tournaments with their peers then the supply to the full squad would be better experienced and suited to international football. The first team shouldn't need to help of players that age.

The reason they fail at senior international level is that they are developed at an early age to suit premier league football which is anathema to succeeding at international football, I think. It's depressing to see that we are at least another generation away from winning anything. Same old frantic pace football.

Go through the team and how many play regular and those that do at the top level?

                            Only Kane.

Sterling, Barkley, Wilshire (despite being over 21), Shaw, and Oxlade-Chamberlain were all eligible for the tournament.
