It would help the game in this country by not holding up finishing fourth as some kind of success. Another of the big teams would miss out and so level the playing field for the rest of the league. Top players from around the world so desperate for champions league football would either continue to come and sit in big squads of the 3 in the CL places or stay away. Thus meaning the leagues abroad would have better players, maybe a chance for more homegrown to get a chance here. This league has money and so called top players. Yet its never been poorer for quality. It's all good although it makes it harder for us.

Football is corrupt as ****, rewarding clubs for winning nothing and giving smaller clubs in Europe no chance of competing

Any Liverpool supporter would be over the ****ing moon if we finished 4th. This season for us, finishing 4th would be massive success for the club.

I expect 4th as a minimum. We might not be deserving it recently but I expect it.

Getting it won't lead me into any kind of celebration.

For Liverpool fc to regularly finish in the top 4 is huge for us as a club. Shows that we are an established champs league side. Broadens our reputation across Europe. That's not even going into the massive financial benefits, able to pay bigger wages, able to pay bigger fees and able to attract better players.

I enjoy watching us playing against the best teams so for me finishing 4th to get in the CL is cool, maybe not as massive an achievement as winning the league but I prefer it all the same. And to be honest I couldn't care less where our players come from, homegrown or not, all I care about is that we play semi decent football and win as much as possible.

Would some of you seriously not celebrate if we made it back into the CL?

well no, CL and EL positions for the 2016/17 season are already set.

if england should lose them it's for the 2017/18 season, but that being said portugal are set to lose the points from the braga: porto final in 2011 and italy not having much succes either its a long shot. as long as there are 4 clubs in CL group stages and 2 in EL group stage it should be fine.

I know it's not the conversation point, but I would quite happily see us never play in Europe if we were challenging for the league regularly. And I would be just as happy to watch us play without the likes of suarez, hazard, Martial, Sanchez, Costa etc being on the pitch every week.

Some people seem to be more fans of the PL than clubs and I blame sky for that, I couldn't give a **** which the best league in the world is or which league attracts the best players from south America etc. I hope the bubble bursts and we can get back to a more simple game that people can afford to watch.

I agree wholeheartedly on this and hope the bubble bursts as well. Greedy ****ers running the game and ruining it from all angles.
