Athetico are horrible to watch but they deserved to go through over two legs. Was banker peno for Barca but balances out as Iniesta should have been off. They have to be the most well drilled team I've ever seen. Can't wait to watch them grind out results in the next few games, they really are tough to watch. Totally agree that they look like a young Mourinho side.

Couldn't have out it betterOriginally posted by G View PostIt's true but at least it's not Jose. The smaller teams have to find a way to beat the big boys. Jose was unforgivable because he spent a fortune on some of the best players around and played like that.
And he's a cunt.

Yeah the same pundits were trying to say that Atletico Madrid's achievements this season were a bigger underdog achievement than that of Leicester in the EPL this season and they seemed to be trying to say that Atletico Madrid had spent pennies in the transfer market compared to Leicester.
Think it as Dunphy that was suggesting that Atletico sold all their star players and bought in replacements for tiny figuresI don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Any apart from Real.Originally posted by Phoenix07 View PostWho do we want to win the Champions League then?
1. Manchester City
2. Real Madrid
3. Atletico Madrid
4. Bayern Munich
I'd like Atletico Madrid to win it, with Man City second (purely because I want Guardiola to have nothing to do).James Philip Milner Fanclub #1

I saw that and ignored the comparison as any knowledgeable football fan knows that it isn't true. Yes Atletico sell players but they spend big on replacements - strikers being the obvious area. They are the third biggest club in Spain so the Leicester comparisons are also ridiculous.Originally posted by Jaco_Pastorious View PostYeah the same pundits were trying to say that Atletico Madrid's achievements this season were a bigger underdog achievement than that of Leicester in the EPL this season and they seemed to be trying to say that Atletico Madrid had spent pennies in the transfer market compared to Leicester.

Re Messi though - I believe that he is the best player we have ever seen but 5 games without a goal for him is a crisis and he did not play anywhere near the level we expect of him last night. He is always the talisman that wins them games when they most need it and he didn't/couldn't do it last night. I do wonder if there is something going on affecting him, maybe he is simply just tired?
