This is an excellent article, comes across as a very level headed and grounded person. At the risk of sounding like a prat, I can also relate to every word he says. Not to his scale but experiencing this across 2 sports, still it resonates, even being 34, father etc and happily (my knee and back anyway) retired.

Incidentally, his teams success and the premium that that leads to notwithstanding, i would be putting his name in the discussion about potential new goalkeepers. His dad was still a cunt on the pitch though

I watched a bit of the game last night, and it must be said they do look an impressive team. That said they do seem to have avoided any injuries thus far, and you wonder how they'd cope if Vardy, Mahrea or Kante (he looks a player) got injured.

Good luck to them though, absolutely incredible position to be in, and the confidence they are playing with could make them genuine contenders.

It's bizarre

A strange season, but you assume they are going to fall away sooner or later.

This time last season they were bottom of the league with 10 points, and Chelsea were top with 39.

My feeling is that as well as they have done their lead in the table is as much due to the terrible form of other teams. I don't think they have many more weaknesses than the other teams in the top 4 (less out and out strengths perhaps but a better togetherness).

They need to keep one of Vardy and Mahrez fit to maintain a goal threat but I think they have quite a bit of depth in terms of providing chances. I guess an argument could be made about defense but I don't think they have any irreplaceably good players in that regard.

I think if we, or Spurs, don't get our **** together over Christmas they will finish top 4.

They have got what everyone else with serious aspirations is missing to some degree right now - dangerous direct pace. A fit Sturridge (and Dings) and we'd be blitzing the league without them we're not, when/if they lose one of Vardy or Mahrez for a month they'll fall away somewhat.
