    Kasper Schmeichel

This is an excellent article, comes across as a very level headed and grounded person. At the risk of sounding like a prat, I can also relate to every word he says. Not to his scale but experiencing this across 2 sports, still it resonates, even being 34, father etc and happily (my knee and back anyway) retired.

Incidentally, his teams success and the premium that that leads to notwithstanding, i would be putting his name in the discussion about potential new goalkeepers. His dad was still a cunt on the pitch though

Interesting article though he has now made everyone aware of what they need to do to wind him up

As they are the new force in English football, perhaps we could make this the Leicester City thread?

I watched a bit of the game last night, and it must be said they do look an impressive team. That said they do seem to have avoided any injuries thus far, and you wonder how they'd cope if Vardy, Mahrea or Kante (he looks a player) got injured.

Good luck to them though, absolutely incredible position to be in, and the confidence they are playing with could make them genuine contenders.

If one of those 3 mentioned gets injured for a run of games I think the wheels could come off.

The way they play relys on them and having more energy to run people down. Thats got to have a Bielsa style tail off in the last two months, surely?

        It's bizarre

A strange season, but you assume they are going to fall away sooner or later.

This time last season they were bottom of the league with 10 points, and Chelsea were top with 39.

My feeling is that as well as they have done their lead in the table is as much due to the terrible form of other teams. I don't think they have many more weaknesses than the other teams in the top 4 (less out and out strengths perhaps but a better togetherness).

They need to keep one of Vardy and Mahrez fit to maintain a goal threat but I think they have quite a bit of depth in terms of providing chances. I guess an argument could be made about defense but I don't think they have any irreplaceably good players in that regard.

I think if we, or Spurs, don't get our **** together over Christmas they will finish top 4.

They make football look simply which is good to see.

Why the **** we contrive to make it look like a game of chess I have no idea.

Less chess like than before though - draughts maybe!

They have got what everyone else with serious aspirations is missing to some degree right now - dangerous direct pace. A fit Sturridge (and Dings) and we'd be blitzing the league without them we're not, when/if they lose one of Vardy or Mahrez for a month they'll fall away somewhat.

That explains Crystal Palace's form too?

They did pop into my head as well - same basic template I think.

I know it's still unlikely that Leicester will win the league, but has it ever happened that a father and son have ever won the league previously?

I guess it's pretty likely, given that amount of time the league in its various guises has been around, but none spring to mind.

Chelsea play Leicester on the final match day, could one stop the other from winning the league, and can one send the other down!

Not the same league but Jordi Cruyff won the PL whole his dad won Dutch and Spanish league honours.

Oh what about Ian Wright (Arsenal) and Shaun Wright-Phillips (Chelsea /Man City)?

The Cruyff's are out cos Johan never won in England. And Shaun was adopted, so I'm not sure if it technically counts?

I didn't realise this was about biology! Surely nurture counts for more?
