    I grew up on the old Italian football when Montero used to cut opposition CFs in half + he could play a bit - Godin & now Gimenez at Atletico look the part at different stages of their careers. Re the Argies - Samuel, Ayala, Almeyda, Sensini were all excellent but they aren't producing much recently - Otamendi, Rojo & Garay not at that level. When we went South American we ended up with Paletta (too young), Pelligrini (too old) & Coates (too stoned) so we've been burnt there.

    The best prospects now are Sule, Laporte, Mammana, Balanta, Rugani & Romagnoli but I have really high hopes for Gomez and he could solve our RCB position for the next 10 years +.
    I think in general our team lacks a bit of nasty. The South Americans do have that bit of fire in them. Godin IMO is the best CB in the world. Gimenez looks quality too. Like Howedes too.
