Maybe 38 million is way over the value for Texeira but we dont seem to have issues paying over value sometimes - Benteke 32 million, Lallana 25 million, Alberto 7 million for a Barcelona B player, Ilori 4-7 million depending on sources. Our transfer strategy is really really weird.

infuriating we over pay for average players time and time again but then get tight when it comes to genuine quality.

Ayre is right not to spend so much, we have a value, we should stick to iy.

Understand that kev but we don't seem to have a problem spending exorbitant fees on bang average players. And these buys likes of Carroll, Benteke, Lallana, Lovren etc are the ones that are making us so hesitant in over paying for likes of Tex and the other failures imo.

If we hadnt of had such a poor record in the transfer market and so many flops... Imo the fee wouldn't be such an issue. I think we are just terrified to spend big incase we have yet another failure.
