And, maybe Ancelotti wants him to stay and Mario is then in a win-win, if it doesn't turn out he'll be the most popular Bosman signing of 2017.Originally posted by poorscousertommy View PostThe self entitlement of our fans sometimes "if he doesn't want to join us he can do one etc etc"!
We haven't even got Europa League football.
Why would you want to join? Because of the name Liverpool? Not everyone thinks like we do! Gotze wasn't born the last time Liverpool won the league and he was around 12 when we last won the Champs league.
The fact is no European football for the main means that you can't attract the best players.* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Germany coach Joachim Low says Mario Gotze considered offers to leave Bayern Munich this summer - but believes a chat with new boss Carlo Ancelotti convinced him to stay at the German giants.
Gotze was a £20m transfer target for Liverpool , as Jurgen Klopp hoped to persuade the 23-year-old to move to Anfield this summer, but the World Cup winning forward confirmed on Monday that he plans to stay at the Allianz Arena .
Gotze struggled to break into the Bayern team last season, but Low believes that Gotze has made the right decision in staying.
“I’ve been in constant contact with Mario and he’s kept me informed all the time,” Low said at a press conference on Wednesday.
“He’s had a long talk with Ancelotti and I think a few falsities were said about that, but a coach can never give a guarantee and he told Mario that everybody starts from scratch from the start of the season under him.
“Mario has had offers, but I always felt he is in Munich with his heart and he wants to prove himself there.
“He told me he wants to stay in Munich and take his chance with the new coach and I think that’s a fine decision because it’s what his feeling tells him to do, so it’s the right decision for him.”
Bayern Munich legend Lothar Matthaus has also backed Gotze’s decision to reject Liverpool’s advances, and the player split with his representatives this week, confirming his family would take charge of his affairs.

Yeah, it's probably the best decision for him, it's not like there is a Euro or a World cup after next season either, he can take the chance.Originally posted by Muddled View PostYou have to respect the decision he appears to have made. New manager and an opportunity of a clean slate with a successful club in his country. We tried, he thought about it, he made a decision and we move on to the next target.* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

He'll only be 24 next June too, and will probably be the most sought after free transfer if Bayern don't tie him down to a contract to receive a fee. He's 23 at the moment, and he'll have trained under Klopp, Guardiola, and now Ancelotti. Not bad at all for a chubby cheeked emperor with stiffy issues.
