First chance I've had to get online since last night.

What a pathetic tournament that was....just clueless....Kane was dreadful throughout, sterling abysmal and should never ever have started last night...personally I've felt the midfield three Rooney, Alli and dier have been terrible as well...it just didn't work and we never looked like we had a midfield, those players just don't seem suited to a midfield three, I'm not convinced Dier has the ball playing ability to be that anchor, and Rooney clearly doesn't have the legs. I'd be pretty confident that a midfield three of Milner/Henderson/Barclay would have worked better in that system....with lallana/Sturridge/vardy as the front three and use rashford for pace or Kane as a target man when it needs changing

I heard on the radio claims that there was a dressing room split between Roy and some of the players about team selection throughout the tournament and particularly regarding Sterling's selection last night, has anyone else heard anything like this as I can't find it reported anywhere else.

Thanks, the best tournament ever A bit weird but the Iceland team has actually been more ambitious than England the whole time, I think that plays a part. From the start of the qualifying the aim was first or second in a tough group.

Then the aim was to get out of the group, then to win the group, before every game they say, "we are going to play to win" it's not always pretty, but that's because of the game plan. With a good coach I think the England group could go all the way to be honest.

I read something similar, also that they felt Roy didn't believe in them, which is probably fair
