My feeling is that we are just marking time with Southgate as manager - hoping he brings in young players and that the next generation is more talented. You get the feeling he's the football equivalent of Peter Moores.

Next season will be a big one for Sterling I think. With more competition and longer under Pep he's either going to kick on or slide into obscurity as the 400 nippy midfield sprites bought in at unfathomable expense over the summer take his place.

I thought sterling has improved, don't often see him running into blind alleys or losing the ball that often. Think football is starting to click with him, but yer right, big season for him at City.

He's not kicked on as we thought, has he? Like you say, he's looking like his biggest skill is his pace right now and that's time stamped. Maybe he can do it, but I suspect not.
