Though it's getting harder to continually attribute such 'mistakes' to stupidity

They leave themselves wide open to it though. Trips up the UAE, Manchester based refs etc….. that prick Webb on tv gesturing like some self help guru. Apply the rules of the game, regardless of context. Use VAR as a help even if your mates look bad, we want the right decisions and use technology to assist ffs

The main man is ‘80/‘90s vintage SYP - they were both incompetent and corrupt.
If they just made VAR about making the right decision that would go a long way. Then mic them up so it is transparent. And use a slightly more attacking biased interpretation of the offside rule. Oh and if you got something ridiculously wrong as in the Spurs game, fix it in the bloody game, don’t hide behind a stupid rule cos you ****ed up!We are here for a good time not a long time....

Also in regard to the 3 Forest penalty claims how many do people think were pens? For me the handball one was too close for him to get his hand out of the way, there have been issues with the handball decisions given and not given in the last few weeks so no ****er really knows what the rules are on that. The other two are in the category of seen them given, seen them not given. I don't think any of them were stonewall pens as has been claimed. All are subjective if and fall into the annoying category of ref doesn't given them and VAR are right not to overturn, but would also probably be in the category of if the ref gave them then VAR probably wouldn't overturn them. Under the current rules decisions are ok. Would there be bias in which teams might be more likely to get soft decisions, I think the answer to that is probably yes, they can say top 6 get those, but only certain clubs in the top 6 get them IMO.
Forest IMO are upset because they feel there were so many pen claims and they feel all the decisions went against them, but under current rules I think it's difficult to claim there were any clear an obvious errors. Obviously the issue is consistency and the who idea that if it's given on the pitch VAR don't overturn it but equally if it's not given on the pitch VAR don't award it. That for me is the anomaly in the rules and it's been evident since VAR was brought in.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

The first one, there is a kick on the ankle but I don't feel there is enough in it to over-rule the onfield decision, especially if he has seen the contact and deemed it not significant enough to cause the player to take a tumble.
The second one, the handball, I'd be fuming if that was given against us, the defender is spinning round to follow the ball and his hand it in a natural position, and at that range it has just hit him, nothing he could do.
The third one, the ref says "he got the ball" and the replay makes it quite clear that he didn't, so I reckon VAR should be making him take a second look at the very least.

At the very least i'd have given 2 out of the 3.
I thought the handball was blatant. His arm moves towards the ball.
The third one is a foul anywhere else on the pitch so why is it not a penalty?
Video for anyone who hasn't seen them

The third one is definitely the strongest claim and probably should be a pen, the handball is half a yard away I don't think you can give that. The first one needs to be seen from multiple angles so is perhaps in the territory of calling the referee over to the screen (if that weren't effectively saying this is a pen) because from a couple of angles it looks like Young may play the ball. I think I'd only have given 1 (for the 3rd claim)The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Haha yaa, I think it’s a case where people are asking why are they giving the wrong decisions- deliberately (corrupt) or accidentally(****).
But I agree it’s not so binary- there’s levels of biases and incompetencesI don't tip

Anthony Gordon gets the first one on evidence quite recently, but I don’t think it should be. The second one is handball, defenders know they can’t have their arms out and good ones like VVD have to put their arms behind them because of it. We have seen numerous incidents like this given all season, Chelsea and Coventry very recently and this one probably stopped a goal. The third was a 100% stonewaller that VAR should notice ten times out of ten.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

It's hard to get behind another teams VAR criticism when there was nothing but the sound of crickets chirping when we were on the receiving end of the most egregious VAR decision of this and any other season.
That should have been the catalyst for a unified approach by the clubs. Instead it was lol **** Liverpool and lets get on with our day.
