He clarifies it in a nutshell. We're looking out for our mate in the middle. All wrong, he should be looking out to make the correct decision or overturn an incorrect decision

          Yeah this

Their role is to make the correct call, not protect each other. They're not in Vietnam FFS

I agree that is what their role should be. But the 'clear and obvious" bull**** brings a new level of ****in grey!!!

All they had to do was copy rugby. ****in useless cunts

Yeah the "clear and obvious" grey area is most definitely deliberate. Gives them the wiggle room they need to get away with all these ****e and often dodgy decisions. It needs binning off. It is either the right call or the wrong call. There is no inbetween/grey

I think the answer is having 3 independent VAR officials mic’d up where the best of 3 decides the result.

yaaa if it’s a clear and obvious mistake, then the referee can review it himself… ehhhh if it’s clear and obvious why does it need another review, dickheads

I’d be in favor of this too- a bit like how boxing is scored differently by different judges.

They should introduce vavar- someone in another room watching what the var are doing

Everyone knows we should have just had the same system that they have in rugby, it's not perfect but it's a hell of alot better than what we have now and it's transparent .

This is the problem with the football authorities is they think they are better than everyone else and can do things better, but the reality is they are nowhere near as smart as they think they are and inevitably **** it up, but they are too stubborn to back down or admit they got it wrong.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Yep less chance there’s 3 bias ppl on n there compared to what we’re getting now.

With VAR, if they get it wrong, is there any repercussions on the officials? If not, there needs to be. Something like 2 mistakes in a 3 month period and you're demoted to a lower league, that sort of thing? At the moment it feels like they are all a bit too 'safe' in their jobs, knowing that even if they do **** up, nothing will happen bar week off from officiating?
