I think a good start would be making the pictures visible to the fans at the ground, so at least the fans are aware of what is going on and the referee can't hide behind that anonimity..
Fans can buy a refs mic thing when you they the ground so you can listen in throughout the match. Also the incident is replayed on a big screen so you get to see exactly what the ref does as he contemplates and this adds to the drama.
Modifying post.

I think we can all agree that the goal-line tech works well enough. We hardly ever hear complaints about the, though is isn’t used that often.
The FIFA offside system seems to work, it is quick and clear, and removes any subjectivity, human error or potential bias from the decision. It should be consistent too. The fact it is an AI system should mean it gets better at making the call. Any potential system margin of error is already factored in to the attackers benefit. Sounds great to me!
The Refs and VAR conversation is the last layer of secrecy that needs a spotlight on it. There is no reason for not doing it, unless there is something to hide. The fans deserve transparency, if Rugby can do it so can Football. We are here for a good time not a long time....

The FIFA offside system has an accelerometer working at 500Hz, so it is able to tag the exact frame number for the cameras which still work at 50Hz.
That removes a huge amount of subjectivity and human error in the current system. That is the biggest weakness with the current system, so I’m hopeful is starts to get more consistent & correct decisions. If it works well in the CL there will be a big push for a PL implementation of the system as is, without any tweaks. We are here for a good time not a long time....
