Exactly - that's insane VAR didn't get involved with that. Apprarently by not making a movement they weren't interfering with play, even though they were right in his line of sight

It's simply because they make it up as they go along and they've been stung by the criticism from the Robbo incident.

Yeah they have leant on this "not making a movement" thing now, even though I thought Jesus the other day clearly moved his leg out of the way last minute?

And the 'making a movement' clause doesn't appear anywhere in the offside rules.

The closest is this "making an obvious action which clearly impacts on the ability of an opponent to play the ball", which is irrelevant in all of these decisions.

          They're refereeing on vibes.

Absolutely outrageous that this is somehow allowed.

Yup verbal gymnastics trying to make excuses instead of owning up for the blatant **** up & now they have painted themselves into a corner.

The issue they’ve got is in messaging as well.

Webb pointlessly sticking up for the decision v City when really nobody was arguing that it changed the result. If he’s said, yes, that should have been a goal then all of the subsequent decisions make sense.

It is a pathetic level of leadership and attempts to get VAR to an acceptable level.

Absolutely farcical to not red card Garnacho

Richarlson assaulting Ekitike, hand around the neck

The challenge on Isak going completely unpunished, two footed lunge, there's retrospective isn't there when a yellow wasn't given

May as well just bin it as it's utter bollocks

And for me. I detest Anthony Gordon, he's a horrible cheating cunt, but I was looking for the leg thrown out to get kicked move that he usually goes for, and I don't think he had time to do it before he was clattered. Contact was with the hip before the shoulder.

Doesn't really matter. Shoulder contact doesn't give you carte blanche. I used to be a defender so I loved a should challenge but you have to do it right. You have to be side by side within touching distance of the ball and can't use excessive force.

It's a fairly subjective rule but there's little subjective about this one. Clattered is about right. Nailed on pen.

The whole rule is daft as it's just as effective as tripping someone up

Yeah shoulder challenge is one thing but that is just completely wiping the opponent out. Literally baffling that they can come to any other conclusion.

To improve VAR, why can't the VAR be a panel from another FA, ideally in a different country? I can't see any reason not to do this, but plenty why it shouldn't remain as it is
