They keep getting results. We did similar last season when we didn't play well but kept getting 3 points. They're making me nervous. You'd hope over 38 games they'll drop off and their luck will run out. But we need to stop dropping points. But at present I don't feel confident going into any game. Wake me up in May please.

They get scores of penalties, we have to get shot to even be considered for one. Could be the difference with fine margins.
      3rd place. Worst champions ever.

One major difference at the moment us vs United is they are actually shooting from outside the box which is something that imo we should be doing a lot more of. Rashford & Fernandes in particular are shot on site. We just take a little too much out of it, especially vs the lesser sides sometimes you just need to hit the thing.

A very good chance they'll be above us come february. If all our central defenders werent broken I wouldnt be super worried but they are. They get nothing penalties while we have defenders and goalkeepers either bear hugging us or scissor tackling without any punishments.

My theory is that they literally have a full squad to choose from (give or take one or two injuries here or there) and when teams have this bit of luck they usually end up going on a bit of a run. You can basically substitute like for like, rest players, rotate, bench gives you options, keeps players on their toes etc...

It's basically a harmonious time as a manager.

Once you start picking up injuries here and there...even 3 or 4 squad players, it changes the whole dynamic.

The way I see it, even putting VVD/Thiago/Jota to one side, they've had their Shaqs, Oxs, Keitas ...ready and available most of the season.

Injuries are what they are but if they start picking up some during the natural course of the season, I expect they will fade away.

I think it's attitude/motivation and fatigue. We've turned up against weak sides and strolled around, made the easy runs and easy passes expecting a win rather than playing at the intensity we need to.

We've had some rough decisions but the fundamental problem had been that we've had so much of the ball but used it lazily too often. The players that we have put out have the quality to break these teams down but just go through the motions too often.

I think there is an element of conserving energy in games not against the top teams. We definitely play at a manageable intensity rather than playing full on like say, how Leeds do it. It doesn’t mean it’s not possible, I think it requires more concentration as to know we can control games and win them 1-0 or 2-0 by keeping the ball. It’s done to allow us to get us through a season or peak at a specific time of the year I think.

Some of those games we’ve had decisions against us, such as Brighton and Everton away. Those 4 points on the board would give us great breathing space if you look at it in hindsight.
                    Are we winning?

No not really... he went down, united played on... then wolves get the ball back and THEN the ref stops the game... but he was grand to carry on...

Fittest teams in the league they are. Blitzed Brom. We've looked pedestrian in most games this season, the difference is we have world class players that can punish teams but as a whole we have managed to get to the top of the league with a decimated squad and playing average in many games this season.

Their fitness is helped by the fact that they have mostly only been playing once a week. Our squad is really fit, but playing twice a week due to Europe and all the injuries have taken their toll.
