Peter Schmeichel has claimed that UEFA threatened Denmark with a 3-0 forfeit if they did not resume their opening Euro 2020 fixture after Christian Eriksen's cardiac arrest.

TBH.....I'm not sure what Peter Schmeichel is moaning about.

What I do know is that you wouldn't be getting a peep out of him if the result went their way.

Handed the option to play the remainder the next day was probably the fairest option, and they were offered that. All indications point to the Finland setup defaulting to whatever the Danes wanted to do. Perhaps their hands were tied with regard to what they are allowed to award, but the default outcome for a team not being in a position to play is a 3-0 defeat.

As sad and shocking as the situation was, the show does eventually need to go on, and a rescheduling, with all the logistics involved for a major tournament, needs to factor in not just the impacted team, but their opposition, the other teams in the group, the fans etc etc

Perhaps Peter has a solution. Preferably one that results in a more favourable result.
