They had some home brew poitin type thing and made us drink shots with them - every picture they took we were dragged in and they were doing nazi salutes. They had dark eyes that you knew had seen and done heavy ****.

I remember some nights before the game there were riots in the square in Poznań - Lech ultras and Croatian fans going hard at it. A load of pissed up innocent drunken Irish lads caught in the crossfire and the the Polish police got involved - carnage
Going away with your country is amazing.

I was in Paris when we won and the entire trip was brilliant. The Tartan Army tends to be composed from supporters from all of the other clubs outside of the Old Frim so the amount of idiots is pretty low. It is also quite well self policed. It’s probably quite hard for many people to understand as we don’t travel exactly expecting to win.

The entire trip is centred around getting pissed. I travelled with my kilt and Scotland shirt, my luggage was a toothbrush and a spare shirt.

We met under the Eiffel Tower, and then marched to the Stadium, which was easily the best bit of the day. The football was a blur, and we were cheered out of the stadium by the French.

There were locals hanging out of their windows cheering us as we walked and then every now and then you’d see a Saltire at a window as someone would get inside.

    Great times.

This is about three miles from the stadium on the banks of the Seine and it continued for the entire march.

This is where I make a subtle dig at others but the Irish and Scots bring atmosphere to games. We are just there for the craic and there is never trouble

Won’t happen, but I’d love to see Trent and Robbo sharing the same side of the pitch against each other.

There is definitely massive similarity. I’ve never seen even the merest glimpse of trouble with the Tartan Army and I love the interaction with the opposition support. That’s what really makes it special.

In Paris as they put the tickets on general sale I’d say there were about 20k Scots and there was zero in stadium segregation.

It’s a trip away, loads of booze and at some stage there will be a match that the entire event is centred around. There is a small chance that the game might bring a win, or a draw, but in some ways the game is a distraction. The main event is to sing some songs and drink some beer.

Yeah, if it was going to happen it would have been today. It would have been a hell of a battle.

But true - I’ve seen Ireland get thumped by Spain, Croatia and Belgium but pre game had convinced myself a result was possible

the power of alcohol fuelled camaraderie. I don’t feel that way about tonight, but I might do if so was there.

I’d have us 10-1 at best. I’ve even got an English mate saying ‘it’s 50-50’, but it’s not. He is just saying that so in the unlikely event of us winning he has it covered

I feel in myself - 85% prepared for defeat, 14% hope for draw and 1% on us winning.

And it is that 1% that will kill me

Hope Ronaldo throws the coke bottles this time then sends a 5 grand roll after it for uefa. Like he'd give a **** about their threat about a fine.

The absolute state of UEFA pressurising on behalf of their officials, VIPs, sponsors etc with regard to the final being played at Wembley.

One rule for one etc etc

Uefa says it is "confident" the semi-finals and final of Euro 2020 will be held at Wembley but has a contingency plan amid concerns around England's coronavirus restrictions.

The Times reported the games could be moved from London to Budapest if VIPs are not given an exemption to England's strict quarantine rules.

The UK government postponed lifting all restrictions until 19 July.

Most countries in Euro 2020 are on the government's amber or red list.

Wembley's capacity is reduced to 22,500 for group fixtures at Euro 2020, but that is set to be expanded to 45,000 - around 50% of full capacity - for games in the knockout stages.

The matches are being treated as fan pilot events and so are exempt from strict capacity limits. Across all Euro 2020 hosts, only Hungary's 67,000-capacity Puskas Arena will have full crowds.

Last month, Uefa moved the Champions League final from Istanbul to Porto because of coronavirus restrictions impacting travel to and from Turkey.

Uefa met with UK government officials and the Football Association to discuss the possibility of Wembley hosting the match between Chelsea and Manchester City but no agreement could be reached on quarantine exemptions for sponsors, VIPs and broadcasters.

Given the **** we've collectively been through over the last 18 months that's pretty ****ing vile.

I'd personally **** the lot of them off and tell UEFA to shove it

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I'd be pretty ****ing annoyed if the UK government allows that to happen if I was over there.

The intelligence of this virus continues to impress me.......it's able to tell the difference between ordinary plebs and VIPs.
