    I would say yes.

And it's mainly through the bizarre refusal to play to individual's strengths imo. From Barnes to Le Tissier to Gerrard and many, many more.

Gascoigne is practically the only flair player I can think of who thrived playing for England.
    Oh I don't know.

Totally anonymous as you say & Sterling looking totally inept at controlling the ball. I’d haul them both off at HT
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

True, but I don't see the big rich teams in the European leagues nicking our best. Trippier and Sancho I can think of. Who else?

I think that this is a good point despite the PL being the self proclaimed best league in the world you feel that they could benefit from experience playing in other leagues and cultures like most other international sides have, OK there are a couple of players playing in Germany, but before that you only really have Beckham and Hargreaves who were in the England side for a significant period while playing in other leagues.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Kane and Sterling both next to each other, going for the same ball there...

Harry Kane is generally regarded as one of the best strikers in Europe, and what have England created for him so far? One touch in the box first half. If you have such a goal scorer and expert header of the ball, you set yourself up to exploit it, you focus on width and crosses, not a front three. At least you probably should.

                Yep.

Most of this team have played in Champions League finals.
                Oh I don't know.

This is true. Playing Foden on the right seems odd as well. Sixes and sevens.

By the way, I was watching Spain and we were talking about who the names are in the team now - you don't really know them like you used to. What do you reckon the Europeans are making of our midfield? Who?

I mean, you have to have a plan. Drop Kane and play a creative/tricky number 10 instead and try and pick the defence apart, but just do something coherent.

And lost in them. Nice that Robbo has a medal though

Grealish on for Foden. Thought Sterling would have been hooked

The problem with England for me is that they are always just wanting to play the best players even if they don't know what to do with them. They end up with a team of players that don't work together or play to any of their strengths so none of the players replicate their club form. IMO they need to get a working system and have the balls to leave out big name players if they don't suit the system, and that has probably been the case for about the last 20 years.
