I'm assuming you aren't aware but Scotch isn't considered a polite term to use for the Scots, some find it offensive.

I like Mourinho these days, really warmed to him. I like emotion in football too, and I like this tbh. But let's face it, not long ago any other manager carrying on like this in a tinpot tournament where you have to beat the likes of Plovdiv Blobdiv in the quarter finals then Mourinho would've ripped them apart and sneered like ****.

Definitely. He's always been a massive hypocrite.

He often parked the bus and used other spoiler tactics with his expensively assembled teams. Moaned like **** if anyone successfully parked the bus againt him though

It’s a term for a thing, not a person (scotch pie, scotch whisky etc).

I don’t know why some people find it offensive - it doesn’t bother me any more than any other incorrect use of linguistic rules (apart from people who say pacific instead of specific, what is that all about ).

Yeah its just one in the list really. Having lived in England (well the CI, but they mainly regard themselves English,esp for sport) for most of my teens and early 20's I became accustomed to sighing and accepting the many and varied minor slights related to where I came from.

It would be Scots, not Scotch. Sometimes a genuine mistake, but often purposefully used as the person delivering knew it to be wrong... then you correct then it is used again, with more feeling. Thats how it can go sometimes.

But if I ever (back in the day) showed any sign of it bothering me that 'being bothered' was then used as the stick to beat me with.
