You'd like to think in 2022 it wouldn't matter but given the level of intellect of lots of fans I think he's likely to get a fair old amount of stick.

    Sad.

Not much hope when homosexuality is a crime in Senegal, amongst other places. Why are some people so frightened of homosexuals?

There are large parts of the world where the surface has hardly been scratched in terms of progress and tolerance. The replies to social media posts highlight that very much. Several of our fans included although I comfort myself believing they support a player and will move on from LFC when the player does

And yet backward ****ers who share the views of the law makers of their home countries don't stay in the homophobic utopias they came from. Strange that.

Same goes for owners and sponsors of clubs that hail from countries that ban sexuality. Maybe stick to owning stuff in your own countries and don't come to countries where sexuality is not illegal if such think offends them so much.

Odin knows why people are scared of something as basic as another person's sexuality. Ignorance? Lack of education? Hatred? Religious dogma?

All I know is that it is that way of thinking baffles me and offends me in equal amounts.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

And yet if a footballer refused to swap shirts with another player because they were Muslim there'd be ****ing outrage.

Being gay isn't a choice, following one or more of the 2,000 available gods is a choice.

I think this is probably hardest for the guy men that are also Muslim, living under a shadow of fear.

I think it's the same for anyone born into a religious culture. Can you imaging an NFL player in Texas coming out? Yeah **** that.

It's easy to blame this on religion but it's more than that. Some people can't handle 'different', it makes them uncomfortable and they lash out. They're weak minded.

He was calling the small minded homophobes weak minded though, not those who cannot come out for fear of their lives or that of their loved ones.
