Jari Litmanen, Rob Jones or John Barnes for me.

Might be a bit harsh putting Barnes in there as he is one of our greatest ever players, but he was never the same player after his run of injuries took away his pace and forced him to become a CM.

Digger was as gifted as Suarez imo with loads of pace but came with the sort of strength normally assocoated with a CB.

And that does not even touch on the mental strength he showed to deal with the racism that rained down from the stands at him. That image of him backheeling the banana is forever etched in my memory.

Litmanen - I still remember hearing we were signing him when I was backing in Aus. Went on the lash that night with a few Dutch Ajax fans who idolized him

        Litmanen….. oh oh oh…… Litmanen…..

Barnes is a good shout as well

Ged never played Jari when he was fit. He preferred Horizontal Heskey.

          Never understood that.
In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

Yeah Sturridge or Agger Liverpool wise.

Van Baste was one of the best ever, same with Ronaldo Nazario. We got to see them at their best and they could of dominated like other Ronaldo and Messi.

Was so excited when we signed him. Guy just oozed class on the pitch. I even had a Ajax shirt in the early/mid 1990s because of him. Preachers on Washington street used to have Eredivisie games showing on Eurosport on a Sunday back then during happy hours.

Did not hurt that Ajax tops usually looked good with jeans.

Aurelio was also a brilliant LB but just never fit. 6 years at the club with only 87 appearances

Yep that was one of the most exciting signings we made back then & he hardly got a look in. Criminal

Got to be Ronaldo, a generational talent and potential all time great ruined by injury.

Of the ones not mentioned, Vicente. Unplayable for around 3 seasons. Was still good later in his career but obviously was never the same.

Rob Jones for Liverpool. Also agree that injury free Agger, Sturridge and Fowler would have been phenomenal.

van Basten was arguably the best ever striker.

Left field suggestions - Gary Bailey (thought he was an excellent keeper, when I was a kid, despite playing for Utd), David Hirst (looked better than Shearer), Dean Ashton (looked like he was destined for good things)
                            Another MASSIVE game

Janie Redknapp was another, class midfielder on his day, but nearly always injured.
