He should….. but probably wont happen. Did he get booked for scaring the ref with his horrendous face (he made Phil Jones look angelic) when he and half the team harrassed the ref

Yup it’s absolute nonsense. I don’t have much sympathy for refs, but how is it an automatic booking for waving an imaginary yellow, but not a booking for screaming in his face like this. Makes no sense

Yes, respecting the referee has supposedly been a big thing this season, but they seem to pick and choose when it is applied. The whole booking players for waving imaginary yellow cards was supposed to be part of that. VVD got an extra game ban and £100k fine IIRC for his comments to the referee after his red card earlier in the season. This looked much more aggressive IMO. Also over the international break weren't they talking alot about only captains going over to discuss decisions with the referee to stop players gathering around and hounding refs?

I would think at the very least Man City should get charged with failing to control their players, but I think a couple of players should be facing individual punishments as it looked like one or two of them put hands on the referee which again they were clamping down on. I doubt much will happen though.

good point, forgot about that. Surely this is the same thing- as you say looks more aggressive too. Halland looks like a boss from mortal kombat or something here! If I was hooper, I’d have ran away. I reckon if he tried booking him here, he’d have gotten a smack.
