It was only a week or so ago we were 9 points clear and people were saying the title is on its way. We have to win our game in hand just to go back to 7, otherwise we'll only be 4 points up. And with a squad as thin as ours, I honestly dont think we'll make it. And if we dont buy anyone next month I can see us coming 3rd.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
Remember that one time we were leading and we didnt strengthen in Jan and suddenly oh no a bad run of games were really bad? Wouldnt laugh too hard as we've already been there.

Being favourites doesn’t mean we won’t **** it up.
But if you’d offered this at the start of the season, 4 points clear of Chelsea with a game in hand 8 ahead of City with a game in hand in December - I don’t think we’d had even have believed it was a viable option. We’ve drawn 2 and lost one out of 14 - it’s definitely going well.
We look like we mean business, I for one intend to enjoy the ride.
And it doesn’t look like it will be City we are up against.
Leicester are battling too and West Ham will probably have a new manager bounce just before our game. As Forest taught us, there are no easy games in the Prem, but we should be looking for 10-12 points from those games.
The postponed game and rotating heavily tomorrow should give the midfield engine a useful rest.
The concern with Chelsea is the size of their squad. Being in a no mark European competition means they are fully rotating their team meaning they are going to be fresher then us.
Chelsea are a bit dodgy at the back also. They’ve got a ridiculously strong squad tho.
They are my main concern, Palmer isn't even in the Conference league squad, they are playing among semi amateurs really, literally as a team from Iceland is in the league and have 7 points today.
Maresca seems to know what he's doing and is building a good team, admittedly from an abundance of resources.
* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Sure its nice to say we'd be thrilled to be in this position if it was offered at the start of the season. But we're here, not at the start. We should be more worried about keeping it and improving if possible. But like I mentioned before we were at this same spot a few seasons back and because we didnt strengthen at the beginning or january, we ended up throwing it all away.

And if we do buy someone?
And if we compare with past seasons, who did we sign in 19/20, also after failing to strengthen that summer?

We've signed some amazing players in january windows so I cant imagine we couldnt do that again. We're stretched too thin. Our defence is borderline horror show with 1 injury more.

So if we signed, say Zubimendi, do we win the league or is there another reason we don't win?
Our defence is far superior to Chelsea BTW, even with their 500 players.
