Surely this is it for this group of Arsenal players? Three goes and they've fallen shot themselves in the foot three times.

Perhaps if they signed a proper striker or two they'd have a better chance. If they signed an Osimhen type player they'd be pretty strong.

Hmm not sure - think there is a very good team in there, they’ve been unlucky with injuries this year which has derailed their season

Having said that, I’m not sure Arteta is the guy to help the club take that last step. Last year felt like his big chance but his inherent caution and need for control, Guardiola style but without Guardiola players, has caused them to drop short.

Plus Arteta clearly didn’t address the obvious attacking gaps in his squad over the summer, choosing to further reinforce defence and midfield, has meant they have an unbalanced squad, even without injuries, and a don’t lose mentality rather than being happy to take calculated risks to go for wins

I do think a new manager who is a little more aggressive in mindset could get a proper tune out of the Arsenal squad

I think Arteta is a decent manager, but as we know, that final step is a big one. He has t delivered anything material for them to build on. I cant see them winning the CL without a forward line, they need a lot to change in the League, I reckon he will get next year and if he can’t land a trophy frustrations will boil over.

Yep agreed, he will get another season for sure. And will be backed over the summer so there can be no excuses next season

Expectations and entitlement in modern football are off the scale nuts.

By any objective measure, Arsenal are about where they should be. They're not underachieving, and they are not overachieving.

They don't have the best the best squad, and they don't have the greatest resources. But they are among the best in both regards.

Arteta is doing a lot better than Wenger did from 2005 onwards.
              Oh I don't know.

That's a wee bit unfair TBH - Wenger got them in to ECL year on year without having anything to spend due to the stadium repayments - He should have been a legend but he was hounded out.

Arteta not fit to tie Wenger's shoe laces.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

They've been relying heavily on Chris Wood. And he has been massively over performing on his xg.

They have like the lowest possession and completed passes in the league.

It was never sustainable and they should be nowhere near the champions league places.

I expect a mid table finish for them once everything starts to be evened out.

In some ways, I'm really pleased because I hate their ethos, from the prat who runs the club to their playing style. But, on the other hand it would be really good for Chelsea or Newcastle to be denied Champions League for another season.
                      Oh I don't know.

The league is nuts. Forest lose 5-0 to Bournemouth, then beat a good Brighton team 7-0, who themselves go on to get 3 good wins after that, beating Chelsea twice and winning last two games 7-0 on aggregate.

He's not, but he's consistently outperforming Wenger's last decade.

And not forgetting that Newcastle had lost all their PL games in February (before today) and lost 4-1 at home to Bournemouth in January. They're probably the most topsy turvy of sides so far in 2025.

Let's hope Arsenal play the rampant Forest and we get the lame Newcastle midweek

Yup. Up there with the treatment Ronnie Mcfall got at Portadown. To compare Wenger and Arteta without context is absurd.

Do you honestly think Wenger's last ten years were better than Arsenal's last three? They've not had it this good for two decades.

Wenger was transformative. Not just for his club but for English football. But after the invicibles season, he really underpeformed.
