So it seems that perhaps only the Germans could give Spain a game.

They need to get a coach now who can play a similar style to the top clubs in the prem because that is generally where most England starters end up.

I can’t believe they haven’t either played Gordon and told him and saka to make diagonal runs behind if Kane is going to keep dropping deep or just told Kane to stay up higher.

He’s still a lethal finisher but it doesn’t matter if he’s not in the box.

Foden should be benched if Bellingham is going to play 10.

Otherwise you just end up with foden, Bellingham and Kane occupying the same space.

The players also look low on confidence though, too often the gaps between the midfield and the front line are too big or players aren’t showing for it.

Spot on. They're never to going to succeed by trying to get these players to play differently.

Give the leading PL managers a few bob to coach southgate /or the next man. Invite him to join training sessions etc.

Or give the job to someone who can work it out for himself.
