I think that the Bellingham and Foden situation is essentially Gerrard and Lampard all over again, two of the squad's better players but they effectively play the same position, trying to shift one around to accommodate both in the team doesn't work. Southgate (and/or whoever is going to be next England manager) needs to have the balls to pick one and put the other on the bench and build a team that works.

Last night Foden wide left with Tripper behind him gave no width down that side and none of the changes really made it much better (not that the right was much better to be fair)

IMO he would be mad to take it. This is probably as good an England squad as they have had for a while but the expectations are always high some might still argue unrealistically so, add to that his history with us and the fact that he is German I'm not sure alot of the fans would give him a fair go if he did take it.

Shame that, cos I think England has an amazing player base to work with, and I would love to see what Klopp (or any other competent, attacking coach for that matter) could get out of them, rather than watching the negative dross that Southgate has us playing.

I don’t think there’s any chance of Klopp ever being coach of any national side but Germany.

He’s a very proud German and despite his affiliation with Liverpool, he’s always spoken about where he comes from in the Black Forest being important to him and that he will retire in Germany.

It depends on timing but I imagine they’d look for another Englishman, probably Eddie Howe.

I don't think its unrealistic that if we get a world class coach we would be clear favourites.

FFS Safegate has taken us to a semi and a final. I don;t think its unreasonable that under Klopp we would be better and I reckon everybody gets behind Klopp.....The only ones who hate him now are jealous other fans.

I don't think that international jobs are much of a draw for top managers, maybe someone like Klopp who was/is a top manager but wanted to step back is the best option, but as I said I don't think Klopp would take the England job, and there aren't many out there who are in a similar position. If the FA are limiting their search to English managers they aren't getting someone top level IMO.

To be honest I think England are a team who could win tournaments based on the players they have. In the Euros I would say that they are one of say 4 teams at the start that many would have thought would be in with a chance of winning it. But the expectation that they should/will win it is a step too far IMO. Semi-finals is about par for them, make the final or win it and they have surpassed that IMO.
