What are views in The club World Cup?

Whilst on the face of it a good competition - it’s too much football right? It starts 2 weeks after the Champions League final. Feels like a good one to miss, I think its going to be rough, maybe less so for Chelsea, but I’ll bet the City players could do without it.

I’m happier that our lot will have their feet up for a few extra weeks.

I don't really see the point, it feels like it's trying to be a world super league, it's bloated to **** what is the justification for 12 teams from UEFA and 32 in total, if you just wanted the continental champions (CL winner, Copa Libertadores winners etc) even for all 4 years it could be half the size. To win it you will play another 7 games at the end of a season,

It also finishes at about the point our preseason would normally be starting. It is in a year between a Euros and WC so some players involved could barely have a break for 3 years, you can imagine it would lead to more injuries, it will be interesting to see how seriously teams take it

Also qualifying by winning the CL 4 years ago doesn't always give the players from that side a chance to compete. Look at the Chelsea side there's probably only about 2 players in their current squad that were in the 2021 CL winning squad.

Just looked at the max number of games you could play in a season if you went all the way in all competitions:
PL 38 games
CL 17 max (automatic qualification, but need playoffs to reach knock out before getting to final)
FA Cup 6
League Cup 6
Club World Cup 7
Charity Shield 1
UEFA Super Cup 1

That's a max of 76 club games (Ok it's unlikely you make all the finals) but there are also 5 international breaks a season with 2 games in each, you could be asking players to play 86 games a season

But even if you go out at the earliest stage possible you play 38 PL games, 8 CL games, 2 domestic cup games, 3 club world cup games and don't qualify for CS/SC that's 51 club games plus potentially 10 internationals, it's a mad situation and players will get injuries because of it.

These guys would be so much better off taking their time and working their way up through youth football or as coaches or assistants first. Are they too entitled or arrogant to think they need to do that?
