    The grappling and holding that Arsenal get away with is absolutely unreal.

    Literally both arms wrapped around the opponent, holding them down, zero interest in the ball. 5 or 6 players doing it on every corner.

      He was definitely pulling him back before that clip starts, so a clear foul that just about continued into the box. I don't think there can be a complaint about the red, the penalty instead of a freekick, maybe, but when you see the whole incident I think it's probably just about a pen too.

      Maguire He's so stupid that he probably forgot he'd just headed the ball.

            This is what happens when we allow gambling in sport. That Arsenal one makes an absolute mockery of the game.

              Look at Rice facing the wrong way. I mentioned it during the game. He’s not even watching the ball and has no intention to try and clear the ball just hold his opponent.

              It’s like those incidents that happen outside the box. When the ball is in the air and a player is clearly not watching the ball and only has his eyes on the man and stops him getting the ball it’s usually a free kick.

                Sorry but holding someone back a few seconds before doesn't make an adult athlete fall to the ground like he's been snipered. Anyone with any sense and working knowledge of physics will know this.

                  Raya is a class goalkeeper but the entire club is trained on how to fall over specifically considering how it will look on VAR.

                    Yeah you can take a fair degree of contact before you have to fall over and that’s the rub really isn’t it? It’s not that feeling any sort of contact is a foul it’s that you are being fouled to an extent you cannot run. The cheating is so ingrained now that we don’t even question it.

                    That’s a dive for sure, his hands go out wide to make it look as dramatic as possible.

                      Sure, I'm saying that, however he falls, it is not actually relevant to whether it was a foul, red card or penalty.

                            Hard to argue.

                            Does football currently pass the eye test? No. Most games are totally **** - I can’t even watch a full episode of MotD. It’s dull.

                            That game yesterday with Arsenal was a total ****show. Players more concerned with going down to get a FK as they know the resulting set piece would provide the best scoring chance.

                            Diving is so common place now and rewarded so often that the entire game is becoming farcical. Ref need to realise that someone hitting the deck because they have felt contact does not mean a free kick.
