Quite amusing that even Arsenal legend Freddie Ljinders is also calling it out. The fact that we’ve been told that Arsenal are this ultimate football machine is also quite jarring, they might well win the league, but it’s not by playing the beautiful game.
This Arsenal team are many things but a machine they are not - the amount they were ****ting their pants during the Chelsea game was insane. One or two calls going against them and they might just fall apart
They have gotten some amazing calls go their way recently (Rice handball, Spurs 2nd goal disallowed), and if / when that turns, they are going to be under real pressure
I really hope they don’t win as they will just double down on this approach, and a bunch of other clubs will then follow Legohead
I’m also surprised to see Bob isn’t on this thread - thought this would be right up his alley!
Football is cyclical and tactics get rehashed over and over again, we are back in the 80s with set pieces and big target men in England, we’ve also adopted the cynicism of Europe to go with it.
We’ve even seen 4-4-2 come back into vogue….. when it goes 4-4-1-1 at least we have Wirtz as the 10
It's good to see some pundits starting to say something about it. Has gone on far too long.
I don't know how managers aren't venting in their press conferences tbh. It's like everyones scared to have an opinion now.
"When a man insults my country I insult him, by taking his woman" Tony Yeboah
"looking through your posts since 2007 and what you have consistently written about my football team I have come to the conclusion that if you had 1 more brain cell you would be a plant .. your father was a hamster and your mother smells of elder berries, I fart in your general direction ..." Nicey

I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.
Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness
A year ago when a player would bump someone in the penalty box during a set piece it was instantly blown for a goal kick. Seen some extremely soft stuff over time. This season arsenal are being allowed to foul players and keeper without any reprimands. But this is the only way the refs and prem heads can get their new team to win the league. Arsenal would lose half their goals if the refs did their job and blew fouls.
Just look at the penalty UTD were given. Guy had his hand on the others shoulder. Then look at arsenal, proper bear hug grappling.

Some of it is about protecting the brand. There were a few sheepish looks when Toure came on and said it was **** (i'm paraphrasing).
As for managers they thread the line between venting and then the media turning on them. But there was a lot of coverage on it, particularly from the Mail.

Let's be honest the brand of football played in the PL this season is ****, which teams are good to watch? I can't think of anyone, everyone seems to just try and kill the game and wait for set pieces.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
Feels like it was ok when it was just Arsenal doing it, but now a lot more teams have joined in with the "mob the 6 yard area" tactic, all of a sudden it's an issue.
Ironically, I feel like we don't tend to use this tactic, yet we are scoring more set pieces than the others?!
