Think there is also Steve Tilson at Southend, sure he hasnt done so well in the league this season but he has bought them up twice over the last two years. Same for Phil Parkinson and what he did at Colchester. Colin Calderwood is also doing a good job at Forest
      Quit your jibber jabber!!!

I'm a big fan of Peter Taylor. I know he's had a bit of a shocker at Palace so far this season but mark my words, he'll tun them around and they will get promoted either this season or the next. There aren't many better lower league managers around imo.

I think Steve Cotteril looks to have what it takes as does Billy Davies.

Parkinson is having a bit of a hard time now he has moved to Hull. Not sure wether it is indicative of his ability to put together a good squad and backroom staff over time that Colchester are doing well and he isn't or it indicates he was just lucky with Colchester or they secretly have the best backroom staff in the country.

You are right about Calderwood. It has been a bit of a poisoned chalice the Forest hotseat, so in many ways he is doing a fantastic job.

I saw him 2 years ago at the embassy club in London smashed, drinking champagne and trying to chat up anyone up with a pulse. Legend

                    Parkinson's been sacked!

Hull City have parted company with boss Phil Parkinson after less than six months in charge at the KC Stadium.
Parkinson was appointed following Peter Taylor's defection to Crystal Palace in the summer.

Despite having spent more than £2m on players, Hull are currently one place off the bottom of the Championship.

Hull chairman Adam Pearson confirmed first team coach Phil Brown and assistant manager Colin Murphy will take over first-team affairs.

Pearson said in a statement on Hull's website on Monday: "It is with regret that on behalf of Hull City, I wish to announce the departure of manager Phil Parkinson, a course of action myself and Phil reluctantly confirmed this morning.

"Unfortunately, results have not gone the way either Phil or the club would wish."

Having guided Colchester to promotion, Parkinson arrived at Hull with a glowing reputation as one of the game's brightest young managers.

Parkinson's achievements at Layer Road in guiding Colchester into the Championship persuaded Pearson to fork out £400,000 compensation to the Essex club for his services.

Hull suffered a 5-1 humiliation on Parkinson's return to Layer Road, a result described as "totally unacceptable" by Pearson.

That defeat was followed by a weekend 4-2 home defeat against Southampton.

It is incredible how badly he has done since his move. Still a bit shocked by the sacking though.

I guess they feel that as Brown has had experience managing Derby they have a strong enough backroom staff to stabalise the club short term.

5 wins in 24 games isn't enough. Hull have everthing in place to be a premiership team and they need to keep going forward..... Not sure about Phil Brown though.

You are probably right, the last two games were pretty shocking. The trouble is that they were a very organised but un-threatening team under Peter Taylor. Parkinson bought in a lot of new players and sometimes you need time to blend a new team and philosophy in, but I suppose it is a results based business.

Hull fans as well as the chairman were devastated when Taylor resigned. The chairman tried everything to get him back but it wasn't to be. I'm not surprised after two promotions in two successive seasons. The thing about Hull is that although they have the supporter base and the stadium they really don't spend as much money as people seem to think. Taylor had them punching above their weight and as a result I always thought that Parkinson would struggle.
