Feel sorry for the guy. He performed miracles last season and now he gets the boot. I know they are 3rd bottom but they aren't cut adrift down there by any means. Its seems all the takeover talk, being forced to take the 2 Argies who obviously don't want to be there and being let down by some senior players has done for him.

I've met Pardew a few times - including when he played for Palace (yes that game!!) - and I have the rare experience of agreeing with the charmer - the guy is a grade A tool.

Before today's result:

Crystal Palace are bottom of the pile for points won per game in 2016 from England's top four divisions.

Alan Pardew's side, who are on a run of five straight Premier League defeats, have suffered a significant dip in form since the turn of the year, picking up just 0.71 points per game.
