I wish pundits, commentators and twitterers would realise that their confusion about VAR is purely a symptom of its novelty and the fact that they arent accustomed to it yet. There have been no incorrect penalty decisions in the competition yet, with no team winning points that they cheated off the referee, and nobody cheated out of a spot kick. It is working.

VAR did not step in, which it's supposed to do. ****ing four of them at least watching replays.

It's massively flawed if so. In rugby you get different angles. That pen from the other side looked like very little contact.

Contact for me isn't a pen. It's a contact sport. It's got to be a deliberate foul. So many pens are very debatable. Var can't help every decision since fouls are subjective.

Yeah in rugby you get to see what the video ref is seeing, and even what they're saying. I don't think that's the case in football.

Just seen the one in question - Seems a pretty obvious and good decision to me. Missed the ball, brought the player down in the box, absolutely no suggestion of it being a dive. Would have been ridiculous to not give that. Fouls don't require intent and never have. All contact sports have contact situations that are against the rules, football is no different.

Not only missing the pen but should have scored immediately before conceding. Terrible defending from them though, left all kinds of space.
