Calling a goal valid that has been waved offside by the linesman during play is highly dubious imo.

It’s a tournament too early for VAR. it’s clear there is a lack of understanding on how it is implemented.

Long term it definitely helps and stops most subconscious bias. There will still be wrong decisions, but we get them anyway so what really changes? Ultimately if you have a vested interest then interpretation will vary.

      I like it.

Train better refs and you have a not far off perfect system.
the peno awarded just because the ball slightly touched the portugal players arm was beyond stupid.
refs now feel under pressure to give the pen as they are thinking the VAR is proving the ball touched the arm so its then a clear pen, but they are completely forgetting the rules of the game and what constitutes a pen.

Thats it. They are over complicating it, which is perhaps understandable in the throws of a match.

One thing we dont need to see the ****ing idiots in the VAR studio. We need to hear them though. Show the replay as the ref sees it and broadcast the conversation between him and the VAR ref.

Honestly, they absolutely nail this in Rugby Union, you still get the odd contentious decision, but the representation through broadcasting and to the crowd is perfect. I agree with what has been said above, the refs need to regain control of the players, and remember to book anyone who is going nuts asking for VAR. A polite enquiry from a captain should be all that is allowed.

The dinosaur ex pros, are in the main a ****ing embarrassment when discussing the topic.

VAR is great, it’s just the inconsistency they need to sort out

If used correctly VAR should eliminate dodgy decisions, there will always be opinion and it will always be subject to opinion and I don't know who they have monitoring VAR in this world cup but they appear to be ****ing idiots.

Going forward FIFA should introduce a ruling that the first two teams to draw a group game 0 - 0 should've automatically ejected from the World Cup.

Australia heading for the bottom of their group. That pleases me.
