The academic education should be the first & foremost thing they concentrate on, such as sporting colleges in the US do, most will never make a living from being a footballer, and to suddenly realise that at 20 without any formal education would be just so wrong, it is right & correct that they do so and then have the benefit of both sporting & academic qualifications when the time comes for that decision.
