I think it is unfair to judge the guy on his reputation and the fact he has had so many clubs, been unsettled everywhere he has been etc - if we judge him solely on his time with us you have to say his attitude was exemplary and his performances were consistent.

It's a shame that in those days, getting rid of Anelka and buying Diouf is the kind of thing we used to do.

Agree with the majority here, fans liked him, he likes us a place & a club, shame he has siblings that get too involved in his affairs, but life goes on and I wish him all the best, unlike his other strike partner that played for us - he can drown in a sea of gob for all I care.

Power, pace, ability and an eye for goal, in the right team he could be winning league titles. Shame he will never end up playing for us though. I think he may be over the worst of his tantrums aswell.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

          Wonderfully talented footballer.

I'd take him back in a heartbeat.

a brilliant player on his day though i think he will always have an attitude problem and his brothers dont help. sometimes looks dis-intrested when things dont come off for him!

Great player, shame about his attitude however that seems to have improved

He is talking us up now that the window is open.
                He is a club hooker.
Not true. He always talks us up.

GH was an idiot for not signing him permanently.

Has it? He made it pretty bloody obvious yesterday that he isn't happy at Bolton and I can't imagine Sam Allardyce or their fans being ecstatic about his comments wishing he had stayed with us!

I'm going on recent performances and this season though. He's been playing really well

He had played well in a few games up till yesterday but his form had been really poor all season and he wasn't scoring at all. Don't get me wrong, I really rated Anelka and wanted him to stay but he didn't and he won't ever play for us again.

He wasn't scoring earlier in the season but when I have seen him he has always played pretty well. Especially when you consider that he has never been one to play the sort of disciplined role Alladyce asks him to play before. His lack of scoring was reminiscent of Crouch for us when he came, playing well but for whatever reason not able to convert chances.

I rememeber thinking at the time "Eto'o or Diouf...FFS, two no mark Africans who probably can't hit a barn door".

I was right about one of 'em anyway....
