As a proud Boltonian I am trying hard not to take offence at this comment. As a Wanderers fan this prize idiot obviously doesn't watch much football (apart from their oponents) but merely being from Bolton is not the reason. I think you will find that there is no tradition of watching rugby, hence no proffesional Rugby League team.
Coming from Bolton up to about two years ago I used to take interest in Bolton, merely because they were a local team (especially against Man U, Everton Arsenal etc). More recently I have begun to take pleasure in their defeats. Allardyce is a prat. He has made a success out of an unfasionable club by using their strengths. He has used outcasts or players at the end of thir careers. However recently he has let his ego get the better of him. He has started to defend his tactics by using flattering statistics and in some instances blatant lies. Last year he accused Liverpool of being bullies and the referee being lenient towards our players. I am sure it was these comments still ringing in his ears that Rafa made his comments on this occasion. All power to Rafa because whatever he did, whether through tactics or mind games it worked.
I apologise about my first post starting with a rant but I just couldn't ignore it.

Actually, considering how much everyone else is going off their head about this article I think you did well to respond so calmly to allegations of egg-chasing.

I love the bit where the bloke says that Sam knows all about English fotball, but yet is there a manager who buys more foreigners than Big Sam!Originally posted by kop-al-74 View Posthttp://www.bolton.vitalfootball.co.u...le.asp?a=44926
I especially like the bit about gerrard going missing in big games.

My old fella's a Bolton fan and they used to be my 2nd team too until the last couple of years. He too seems deluded to the type of football they play and gets totally irrate when i slate them for not playing football. When they first came into the EPL they played attractive flowing football but Allardyce has gradually turned them into a percentages team much akin to the successful Cambridge side under John Beck 15 years ago or so.
Also i've noticed (particularly in the 2 games against us this season) how they blatantly bend the rules. FFS they were timewasting in the first half in both games (even when 0-0). However, the thing that gets me is the amount of time they spend on goalkicks, freekicks, throwins getting loadsa players into the opposing area ready for launch. Now i know there's a 6 second rule for goalkicks from the hand but they seemed to spend up to 1m 30secs sometimes on such setpieces. Allardyce has taken all that's bad about foreign football and put a British spin on it.....sooner he gets sacked/banned for taking Bungs the better.'Religion is killing each other over who has the best imaginary friend'

While there is some truth in what you say, Bolton have played some really good football at times this year. They have improved on the last few seasons which have largely been as you say about playing percentages and then kicking the opposition. This season while they still have this mode of play they have managed to add a more technical passing game in which they exploit the speed and control of players like Diouf and Anelka and the passing of Nolan much more. Alladyce does however seem to believe that the best way to play the big teams is his original plan - to be honest considering the size of club and the depth of their squad I think certainly against ourselves and Arsenal this has worked well for him over the years and he did get 3 out of 6 points against us this season too."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

though if we'd taken our chances against them we'd have run out easy winners, also a bit a lucky decsion for them for the first goal helped them,Originally posted by dww View PostWhile there is some truth in what you say, Bolton have played some really good football at times this year.
