I was saying that for some time. Aurelio is the better player as Riise doesn't give anything going forward as he just hoofs the ball into the box. Finnan is also guilty of that to be honest but he's much more solid defensively.

We need a top class right back (Neil isn't the solution). I would buy Alves to play there. As for Riise, he should be decent back up.

I never did, i don't really care who replaces him, he's been woeful the last few games, doesn't desverve to start in the Carling Cup IMO.

i think Aurelio is NAFF as well, too light weight and not good enough overall, imo of course

Ive been saying for a couple of seasons now that Riise should be dropped/sold. His lack of a right foot is a liability and cost us the first goal today. Instead of playing a simple, slightly behind square, pass with his right foot he tries to turn on his left and loses the ball. Then instead of getting straight back in position he goes galloping after the ball, although he did get back cos he was running full pelt it made it easy for Hleb to turn inside.

He FRUSTRATES me more than any player in our squad. Time to give Aurelio a run in the side, least he can use both feet, can take better free kicks and corners, can beat a man with skill and despite what many people say he's strong in the tackle.

Just saying that there are too many knee jerk reactions on web forums after a defeat like that. I agree Riise hasn't played at his best this season but is Aurelio the long term answer.

Reality check we've lost at home for the first time in 10 months, it was bound to happen at some point, lets not crucify individuals based on that performance.
