Agreed, I just said the same in another thread actually, and our first striker in should be to replace Robbie, and then take it from there.

I'll say Klose is more of the real deal as he has done it at the top in World Cups...but the others? Sorry, dont see how you can look past Bent or Defoe on this one.

I´m not gonna pretend to know enough to make that call. Mabe Bent and Dafoe would do great.
All I´m saying is we should be going for the best and if they where that good they would have been snapped up by a major club when they where 20.

Defoe's not necessarily an improvement on Bellamy. Their scoring records are similar. But Defoe is younger. Bent is doing it for the 2nd season running, and in a poor team. Klose is proven at the top level - but not the others - but that may be the motivation - to prove themselves. It goes one of 2 ways they succeed or they don't. That's the fine line between success and failure. That's why Rafa is so into "mentality". Of the 4 I'd take Klose & Villa, although for soem reason I feel that Huntelaar would suit us, and us him, and that he would do well with Kuyt.

The names all reeled off may be good strikers but we've seen it time and time again players come over here are often dont have the same impact.

That's true. I wasn't a proponent of us signing Bent this summer, but with what's currently on offer, and him performing well in a poor side, I'm beginning to become a convert.

One thing, the striker we get should have the ability to create something on his own in addition to being a great finisher. We lack some with flair to do things on his own.
