I wouldn't let them bother you. The police, as soon as they realised what was going on, quelled it pretty efficiently.

Don't give in and let a few idiots ruin a night at the footie. I won't! But I will be careful where I stop for refreshments on the way up from down South. As someone else said, there were a few (probably the same mob) at one of the service stations 'giving it the large one' - is that still the expression?

Seems they arent all that bad.
Arsenal websites view of the tribute
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

      * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

I remember Arsenal football club being very respectful towards Liverpool after the Hillsborough disaster.

I have a lot of time for their fans and their club.

Same here, i'm quite shocked by these strories coming out about trouble between both sets of fans, although i've never been to a Liverpool, Arsenal game myself i always thought both set of supporters got on well.
I've alot of time for Arsenal Football Club.

Their style of football impresses me, but other than that I've got little or no time for that football club.

That doesn't mean they are less passionate.

                I agree.

It costs me the price of a season ticket to go and watch 2 or 3 home games a season. I try and get to as many games as possible (10-12 per season) but I can't afford any more than that. Does that make me a worse fan than anyone else?

No. I don't think there's many on here that would disagree with that to be fair.

Can I be clear here. There was no trouble between the sets of fans. The Arsenal hooligan element turned up, tried to start trouble and it was quelled efficiently and quickly by the police. That's not to say that it would not have been a major incident without their involvement - the police that is.

From what I saw and what I heard, LFC fans were not involved.

My mate ad I had a great laugh with some Arsenal fans in town before the game. They were expecting to lose, but none the less came up to support their side. Good club Arsenal, always liked them, even back when george graham was playing

Every club has its share of hooligans including Arsenal but on the whole Arsenal are a decent club with decent fans. I speak from a lot of experience. However I wouldn't give tuppence for fans from Chelsea, Cardiff or Gillingham.

Mate, it was only the Arsenal loons that were trying to start a kick off, from what I saw most Reds just hurled abuse at them. These wren't your average Arsenal fan coming watch the game, who IMHO are decent respectful fans, these lot though were just dickheads who'll be telling their knobhead mates that they took the Kop end no doubt

I did hear but didn't witness that they slapped a few teenage kids by the Sandon without provocation, what sad ******s they are
