And goals. You can't deny that. 19 of them. And important ones. In a season he played mostly on the wing.

He may not have been good enough in the long term, but I'd like to see any of our current crop of strikers score 19 in one season....

A penalty in Istanbul, a crucial goal in Cardiff, two goals and an assist to win us the Super Cup, a stunning individual effort against Everton away....

      I'll always remember him fondly.

Mate, you'd have made a much stronger argument if you didnt mention the SUper Cup

Yes he scored 19 goals but its the same as what we have now.How many were against quality opposition,Not many just like our problem still is scoring against better teams. He dosen't have the composure, nerve and finishing prowess to get one chance and stick it away which is usually all you get against the better teams.

And he played mostly on the wing beacuse of his failings. If a manager as good a s Rafa thinks he isn't good eneough to play centre then that'll do me.He isn't good enough for the Prem league, nor is anyone we have bar Kuyt.

I'm not saying he's the answer - just that he's better than what we have now.

Can't agree, ability differences are marginal at best.I'd rather we concentrated on finding the men who are the answer and stop talking about players who most would agree aren't the answer

That's your opinion. I have mine. And with the facts what they are in terms of goalscoring output, and with what I've seen with my own eyes this year from our current crop of strikers tells me I'm right.

League and champions league goals count most for me but we'll compare tallys at the seasons end and the difference will be marginal I assure you.(even allowing for him playing out wide.)

Glad he's scoring, pleased for him as he's had some terrible luck in the last few seasons.

His Liverpool career is over though, he'll never have the confidence to succeed in this league after his difficulties.
He's more suited to the French league, good luck to him.

Anyone who just says 'he's ****' is, quite frankly, talking ****. He's no Drogba (haha) but the guy used to find the net on a consistent basis, half the time playing on the wing...dismissing him as having no use at all is pretty

The guy may score goals, because he's quick, but he lacks all the qualities you need to be a player at the top level. I would say he is a reasonable goalscorer but a **** player - he has no footballing brain, he cant anticipate balls, doesnt know how to hold the line or time his runs, the man has no intelligence and he's lazy and selfish. For me these are not qualities that make a reasonable player. Everytime he is one-on-one with the keeper, he blasts the ball, pretty much straight at him. A lot of his goals are shots that go through the keeper - he has no subtlety.

In my view, Kuyt may score less than Cisse did last season, but he is infinitely better than Cisse in. His link-up play is brilliant and he is excellent at timing his runs and playing off the shoulder of the last defender. They are worlds apart - and Kuyt actually tries hard. And he has a lot more variety in his repertoire of shots. Even Crouch offers more than Cisse.

Footballing-wise I would say Cisse is one of the least intelligent players to ever pull on the red shirt
