I can understand the rule if one of the parties do not agree to a transfer, but the existing contract should cover that anyway.

What is the point of two transfer windows a year if a player can only play for two clubs? They should just scrap the Rule. It's pointless. I'm sure it contravenes EU laws anyway.

Anybody know if JM qualifies for a work Permit? Dont need another Gonzalez saga

Dont you have to negotiate a new permit with new employers ? Or does it last for a Set period?

Apologies for the question, but I'm not familiar with the rules in UK

A work permit shouldnt be a problem as he is an established international.

Yes, but isn't part of a Work permit that a player plays a certain % of games for the club (Doubt if he did that at West ham) or Has that fallen away?

BTW it's the established International bit that will persuade FIFA to change the Rule. I'm sure Argentina will prefer him to be playing more Often and put Pressure on FIFA + G14 will do their bit

I thoguht it was a % of games for the national side to qualify. Which wont be a problem.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

                * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

You're right there. The player must have played 75% of games for his national side in the 2 years prior to the move, and his country must be in the FIFA rankings top 70, which is where Gonzales had his problems.

Anything which depends on FIFA's "accurate" rankings is bound to be a basis for disaster!!

All they can do is stop him from playing CL or UEFA, and that is if he has played it this season. Did he play for the Hammers in the UEFA cup?

I think the boy should take FIFA to court on this!!! What a load of ******s!!!

We'll get him alright - Sorin played for 3 or 4 clubs one year, so there is precedent. And the Argentinian FA are throwing their considerable weight behind the whole process.

One of them - Julio H. Grondona is the Senior Vice-President of FIFA.
He's been a member of the Executive Committee since 1988.

I'm not sure what to make of this t/fer. It has to be a 3 mth loan or i'll be annoyed. Even then, It'll take that time to get him fit/settled. I don't see the point.
