They were sorry to see Wright Phillips go insofar as he was their "name" player but they admitted he wasn't worth a fraction of what Chelsea paid and was also very inconsistent. Stamford Bridge is the second nearest ground to my home so I know many, many Chelsea fans amongst my good friends and they give him dog's abuse and would be glad to see the back of him. Chelsea pay over the odds for everyone, doesn't make them bad players just poor value for money - not one of the players Mourinho has bought is good value for money.

I too live in London and have been to Stamford Bridge 3 time this season and know a lot of Blue****e fans, most want SWP to be given a chance and want to go back to playing with two wingers as they did with Duff and Robben last season, and if you stood outside the City of Manchester Stadium next match day and asked all the Citeh fans if they'd have SWP back or wish they'd never sold him I recon 95% would say yes. SWP hasn't been given a chance at Chelsea so any fan giving him "dog's abuse" is a ****wit.

I'm not sure if this isn't price related though. I agree that Citeh fans were sorry to see the lad go but couldn't grumble at the price they got, especially considering the financial situation of the club at the time, just felt that the clubs hand was forced by wonga. That said the three people I know that support city were still pissed that he went because of what it said about the clubs mentality.

For Chelsea reverse the above, they just can't believe they paid £24 mil for a kid that doesn't even get his game. Again the Chelsea fans i have spoken too, possibly in jest, have said that they don't know if the kid is good or not because they have never seen him play. As a whole though both sets of fans seem to think that he has undoubtable talent and given a run would excel, they just think he was over priced.
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.
