The answer here is very simple.

We cant afford a great striker.

Plus we dont know who Rafa would have bought if he had had a Man U budget.

I would not be surprised if the only player we have that he would have bought with a Man U budged is Xabi.

Cisse was definitely a done deal before Rafa came. That's why they had to go through the whole polava of Cisse saying he knew it was GH that wanted him but he hoped to do well for Rafa, and Rafa pretending he wanted him whilst he was at Valencia etc. If Rafa had been given the chance to pull out but decided Cisse was worth it there'd have been no need for all of that.

'Not a happy camper'. Yeah, me neither. Onwards and upwards though. The highs and lows are always so extreme with Rafa. Let's hope the highs start to come more often from now on.

          I'm not convinced.
i would. Look at all his major signings....the have all been his number one choices...and the only one who has failed IMO has been Morientes.

H has not spent anywhere near 80mill AA, net that is. He has often been forced to sell before he has bought in a new player......an that IMO is just not good enough.

            Agreed

IMO Rafa is still building what hopefully will be a very strong squad for now and the future judging by his many signings of youngsters. Hopefully if/when the takeover happens he'll get better financial backing in the transfer market. Nobody is perfect as we all know but I still back Rafa 100% and will continue to do so for the forseeable future.

On what evidence are you basing that assumption???
