I think its a good move, we wont have to pay a fee if it doesnt work out. Nice long loan deal too.Originally posted by kopdan View Postthats what I dont get. Why bring him in on loan if he isnt to play?Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

does this really work? I mean when you go abroad on holiday, often you see people from the same country and think what a 'f**k' and avoid them. I don't like all English people, do all foreigners like each other?Originally posted by lfc4ever View PostMight also help "others" to settle in, knowing there is fellow countrymen to chat & socialise with.Always borrow money from a pessimist. If I saw you on holiday I'd run a mile, seeing as I don't know you, so I agree with your sentiment, however, these footballers all know each other so are not strangers, and something may have been suggested by an intermediary that it would be helpful, indeed conducive to concluding a deal, that player XXX would be willing to sign if player YYY was also here, along with player ZZZ.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View Postdoes this really work? It's a conspiracy I tell yer!Originally posted by Resu View PostHmmm, have you heard something?
Didn't the last 2 argies (oh **** - Diego's going to jump right in here isn't he??) who knew each other, who arrived together and who played together do a rather decent job of it? Seems to work better than a single isolated player doesn't it?
If you were going to work in Brazil, wouldn't you rather have a mate, or two, who you knew and did the same job even, to help you settle and get the best out of the situation, I would.
